Tignale Soccorso has often fought forest fires side-by-side with the Mountain
Community, the
Corps of Forest Rangers
and the Fire Brigade, continuing for days
or even weeks on end until the fire was brought under
control.
Tignale is surrounded by beautiful countryside with many woods and forests. It is only
thanks to our knowledge of our local territory, our volunteers’ willingness to do day-
and night-time firewatching duties and the professional competence of our 25 Tignale
Soccorso members specialised in fighting forest fires, that the community may hope to
preserve its spectacular woodland areas.
